WaterAccount.com is Datastream’s web site software enabling a water agency to provide its customers the ability to view their water accounts online. The software interfaces to the utility billing system and is customized for an agency’s use, including connecting to the agency’s existing web site, if applicable. We have given our latest version of WaterAccount.com a whole new look and feel with more data, charts, graphs and enhanced customer features.
Water agency customers can sign up, view their account activity, view their bills, and make payments via the web site without the need to contact the agency. Selected account data is displayed including bill and payment transaction detail and balance information. Up to five years of consumption history can be viewed in text and graphic form. If a water allocation plan is applicable, a year of allocation vs. usage is also available in text and graphic formats. Multiple accounts can be associated with a single user registration, a convenience feature for customers with more than one water account.
The customer’s water bill is in pdf format for viewing, printing or downloading. Online payments may be made via ACH or credit card as determined by agency policy. Payments are processed automatically through a bank or merchant services provider of the agency’s choice.
Customers can change their own passwords and email addresses. All major browsers are supported including Internet Explorer, FireFox, Chrome, Safari, Opera and AOL.
Administrative controls have been enhanced for easier site management and customer communications. Features include the ability to view a list of customers who have signed up; view pending registrations; activate an account for a user who is having registration problems; reset a customer password; set a site message for users to see when they login; send bulk emails to all users; view and manage multiple site logs; view site use statistics; designate multiple administrators with customized security settings.
Data transfers between the utility billing system and the web application can be scheduled at any desired time and interval. All transactions are logged, and all automated communications are done over secure encrypted connections. Automated monitoring ensures maximum availability and security of systems and data transfers.
